Welcome to Godly Girlfriends. Here are the steps that we recommend you take to get started and for everyone to gain the most from the Godly Girlfriends community:
1 – Pray FIRST! You know when you don’t read your bible the devil has you right where he wants you – detached from the vine. Before you can enter into this journey you will need your Armor. Ephesians 6:13, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
2 – Choose Your Bible! Ephesians 6:17, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” This is the key to our success. Sometimes it is helpful to have a study bible to reference footnotes or a commentary that will walk you through a deeper understanding. These are all valuable and will help you bring a greater understanding to our chapter of the day. The more posts and comments, the more perspectives and insight. While you read, always ask yourself, “What is this verse or chapter teaching me?”
3 – Make your weekly schedule and PLAN when you can set aside time to read one chapter per day. It is recommended that you plan at least 30 minutes, but if you have 5 minutes – then take 5 minutes. On the days you have the time to devote, please make it a priority to share your take-aways. That way you will have the benefits of teaching others who may not have as much time in their day. This is one of the blessings of this girlfriend community. We’re there for each other!
4 – Plug In – “LIKE” us on Facebook, Follow us on Twitter and be courageous to share, post, comment, or tweet what God speaks into your heart on the chapter of the day. The chapter is posted on the Facebook page and shared on twitter. The founder of Godly Girlfriends, Sarah Schneider, will share one of her take-aways on this blog. If all you have time to do is a quick read of her perspective on this blog, that will help you keep up on the reading and get at least one persons perspective on the reading.
5 – Share! Don’t keep the Godly Girlfriends a secret. It’s only has valuable as the women who we get to connect with and the ability to see God working in and through the lives of those who use this platform to learn, grow, and faithful to reading God’s Word. God’s commands that we take the gospel to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8). We could be His instrument. Let’s invite others to study along with us.
Please Provide feedback! Girlfriends are better for having one another. 1 Thessalonians 5:11, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
